Delivering for District 3: Natomas, Northgate, and Gardenland

KARINA’S PRIORITIES:

We invest where it matters most.

  • Attract employers to create local, high-wage jobs.

  • Support small businesses by streamlining our City of Sacramento permitting process

  • Work on public–private partnerships to address the rapid evolution of AI, protect workers, and strengthen our local economy

  • Ensure new projects deliver community benefits and long-term value to historically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

  • Invest in our commercial corridors: La Northgate, Del Paso Blvd, Franklin Blvd, Stockton Blvd

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Compassion and accountability must go hand in hand.

  • Advocate for a Joint Powers Authority to ensure all bodies of government play a role in addressing homelessness. It is a regional problem and needs to be treated as such.

  • Expand permanent supportive housing with wraparound services and lobby the state for continued funding.

  • Require accountability at all levels, including individuals, service providers, and government agencies, and continue audits on government spending.

  • Enforce laws consistently so public spaces remain safe, clean, and accessible for everyone

  • Ensure the City of Sacramento—located within Sacramento County—receives its fair share of County resources, helps individuals accept offered services, and holds the County accountable for effective care in a timely manner.

  • Protect seniors and families on fixed incomes so longtime residents can stay.

HOMELESSNESS

A city you can afford to call home.

  • Build housing that regular families can afford: Cut red tape to build duplexes, fourplexes, and ADUs.

  • Prioritize affordable homes near transit and jobs.

  • Help working families stay in Sacramento: support affordable childcare, local hiring, and living-wage jobs tied to city investments and contracts.

  • Invest in community wealth: grow land trusts, co-ops, and small businesses that keep wealth in our neighborhoods.

AFFORDABILITY

Safety is about Prevention.

  • Invest in prevention through youth programs, libraries, schools, and community spaces

  • Strengthen neighborhood safety with appropriate staffing levels for public safety

  • Improve traffic safety with safe streets, crossings, and bike routes

  • Build trust between our community to help strengthen the relationship with our Sacramento Fire Department and the Sacramento Police Department
